YVONNE MORENO

BOARD SECRETARY

Yvonne Moreno is a compassionate and results-driven leader with over 15 years of experience in program administration, workforce development, housing, and reentry services across both public and private sectors. She currently serves as the Associate Director of Veteran Services at PATH (People Assisting the Homeless), where she provides strategic oversight for the Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) and the Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program (HVRP). In this role, she leads multidisciplinary teams, drives program innovation, and cultivates partnerships that empower veterans to achieve long-term housing stability, employment, and self-sufficiency.

Before joining PATH, Yvonne served as a Workforce Development Program Manager at JVS SoCal, where she managed workforce initiatives under federal, state, and county grants, including WIOA-funded programs. She successfully developed the first Youth Peer Support Cohort in collaboration with the Los Angeles County Youth Commission, advancing mental health awareness and workforce readiness for young adults.

Earlier in her career, Yvonne spent several years at Mental Health America of Los Angeles (MHALA), where she managed veteran-focused housing and recovery programs in partnership with the Department of Veterans Affairs. Her leadership included designing and implementing housing-first and harm-reduction frameworks, managing multimillion-dollar budgets, and mentoring diverse staff teams. She also worked with The GEO Group, where she supervised case managers within Los Angeles County’s AB109 reentry initiative, facilitating evidence-based interventions in cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and employment development to support justice-involved individuals in successful community reintegration.

Yvonne is a Certified Workforce Development Professional (CWDP) and holds national certification from the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO). She is also certified in Applied Positive Psychology, applying a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach to leadership and community transformation.

As co-founder of the Antelope Valley Boots on the Ground Alliance, Yvonne has united local partners to host community wellness events, veteran recognition ceremonies, and resource initiatives that strengthen the social fabric of her region. Her dedication to empowerment and service has earned recognition from the Soroptimist Foundation and the City of Hope for her community leadership.

Yvonne also collaborates with Bravehearts Collective, helping faith-driven entrepreneurs and leaders build purpose-centered organizations that create positive impact. In addition, she volunteers with Onward Ops, supporting veterans transitioning from military to civilian life.

Yvonne continues to blend research, compassion, and strategic vision to drive social change. A visionary systems thinker and servant leader, she is deeply committed to creating equitable pathways for individuals and families to thrive—believing that strong communities are built through compassion, collaboration, and purpose.
