IGNACIO ROMERO
BOARD MEMBER
Ignacio Romero is a public servant, global affairs scholar, and veteran advocate with more than twenty years of combined federal service and nine years of honorable military duty. As Senior Advisor to Congressman Mark Takano, he shapes policy strategy across veterans affairs, immigration, and international relations, serving as a trusted voice in strengthening diplomatic bridges with Mexico, Japan, and South Korea. Ignacio brings depth in legislative development, binational collaboration, and culturally grounded policy design to advance equitable outcomes for veterans, families, and immigrant communities.
Born in Los Angeles to Mexican immigrant parents, Ignacio became the first in his family to serve in the United States Armed Forces and to earn a college degree. He completed his Bachelor’s in Political Science at California State University, Los Angeles and a Master’s in Diplomacy from Norwich University, reflecting a lifelong commitment to academic excellence and public leadership.
Ignacio serves the Riverside City International Council as Chair of Sister City Ensenada, the Inland Empire Veteran Engagement Board, and the board of Bordando Nuestras Raíces, protecting cultural heritage and artisan rights in Mexico. His work across federal, local, and civic arenas reflects a consistent mission: ensure veterans receive dignity, opportunity, and recognition; strengthen cross-cultural bridges; and build systems where no one who served is forgotten.
